How can an individual place their trust and entire life into the hands of an unseen, unheard, and unfelt God through our tangible senses? To have faith in the infinite presence of the all-powerful Almighty God, who rules over both the heavens and the earth, calls for profound belief. Hence, those who sincerely and deeply commit to, adore, and obey Him will attain what God has pledged to all His followers—salvation and everlasting life.
We shall, at all times, turn to God for guidance and not to man, for the Lord is our judge. He decides what we shall go through in our lifetime. All our experiences, good or bad, are in line with His master plan. At the same time, since God is our only judge, we should not pass judgment on others. We are all flawed, so who are we to judge others?

What Does The Bible Say About The Judgement Of God?
The Bible says that all of us will be judged by God according to our deeds and hearts. God sees our intentions and thoughts behind every action. Doing good things without an honest heart will not suffice to attain salvation. This is underscored in Jeremiah 17:10: “I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the mind, Even to give to each man according to his ways, According to the results of his deeds.
Apostle Paul also emphasized this when he referred to our thoughts and motive as “secrets of men” in Romans 2:16—”on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus.” We can only be saved through His Son, Christ, with the help of the Holy Spirit within us.
The Lord’s judgment is fair and just, as highlighted in Psalm 9:8, “And He will judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment for the peoples with equity.” No one can escape God’s judgment, for He is an all-knowing God—”For the ways of a man are before the eyes of the Lord, And He watches all his paths” (Proverbs 5:21).
Is It True That Only God Can Judge Us?
It is true that only God can judge us[1]. The Bible clearly states that the Lord is the only one with authority to judge mankind. Matthew 7:1–2 reads, “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
God as the only judge is also written in James 4:12, “There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the One who is able to save and to destroy; but who are you who judge your neighbor?” The Lord is the only one to punish the wicked or reward those who obey. Though God uses human instruments to carry out His plans, they are always in accordance with His ultimate plan.
What Does It Mean To Say That “God Is My Judge?”
It means putting your faith in the mighty, all-powerful God and believing that He is the righteous judge and ruler of all nations. It is knowing that all the kingdoms on earth are under the sovereignty of God from the beginning until the end of times.
As stated in 2 Corinthians 6:16, we are the temple of the living God here on earth. Whether you believe it or not, He is always with us in Spirit and acts as the judge of our deeds. It is our duty to give glory and submit to His authority. Neither a false prophet nor other gods and kings except Him can rule over us.
Who Said “God Is My Judge” In The Bible?
The Lord, being our judge, has been expressed numerous times across the Bible, but it is often associated with the name “Daniel,” which means “God is my judge.” In the Scripture, the Book of Daniel delves into the life of Daniel. It recounts how Daniel trusted and looked to God in every crisis and adversity—indeed a fitting name for a man with unshakeable faith.
Along with Daniel are three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who also did not waiver and refused to bow down to the golden image even after the king commanded to throw them in the burning furnace. What could’ve been the death of these young men turned out to be the very thing that promoted them in great Babylon.
When King Nebuchadnezzar was troubled by a dream of a great image, he demanded his wise men not only to interpret but to tell him what he dreamt of. Only Daniel was able to comply with the king’s request by praying to God. Daniel explained the dream, but he did not take any credit for it and told the king that it was his great God who revealed the secret things to him.
We should strive to be like Daniel and not take all the credit for the blessings, knowledge, and wisdom we receive, nor should we idolize others. Surely, a pat on the back when we do something well is nice, and appreciating a great man is fine, but do not lose sight of the fact that whatever we have now, God gave and allowed it.
Why Would A Beloved Prophet Of God Want God To Judge Him?
Because prophets and faithful servants of the Lord have total confidence and trust in Him, they want the Lord to examine their minds and hearts and hold them accountable for their acts and behaviors. They seek His forgiveness and guidance to be redeemed from their shortcomings and stay faithful.
Daniel trusted God and believed in His righteousness and justice. Daniel knew submitting to the Lord’s judgment would deliver him from his trials. The Lord definitely did when the princes and three presidents of the kingdom under King Darius’ empire plotted against Daniel. They deceived the king and brought Daniel into a den of hungry beasts.
However, Daniel didn’t fear nor lose hope, even in the midst of death in the lions’ den. He trusted Him and put his life into God’s hands. The Lord did not forsake him, and the angels shut the lions’ mouths, and Daniel was able to come out unharmed. With all the miracles by the Lord in Daniel and his friends’ lives, King Nebuchadnezzar and Darius acknowledged Daniel’s God.
Why We Must Be Willing To Let God Judge Us?
Because He is our righteous king who will save us—like what the verse in Isaiah 33:22 says, “For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; He will save us”—as Christians, we must be willing to be judged by the Lord, who established and reinforced the Laws that govern us today. In 1 Peter 2:21–23, the apostle Peter noted that even Jesus Christ willingly entrusted Himself in the hands of His Father, for He knows that God judges justly.
As mortal beings, we should use our limited time here on earth to ensure that we will have a place in heaven by loving Him and letting the Lord be our judge. He will uplift those who have been wronged and bring justice to those who have done wrong. The Scripture revealed that all of us, living or dead, will be judged in the final judgment.
- Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds.
And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds (Revelation 20:11–15). - Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men’s hearts; and then each man’s praise will come to him from God (1 Corinthians 4:5).
- And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do (Hebrews 4:13).
Conclusion
Most people who are skeptical about God’s existence tend to think that seeing is believing. In this age where we are heavily reliant on science, almost everything requires a scientific explanation and evidence. Humans constantly try to reason out everything and rely more on their abilities and intellect than on God.
The Lord is the only one that can bring forth deliverance and salvation through faith and obedience in Him. Instead of leaning on our own understanding or worldly wisdom, we should seek the Lord’s will and guidance in every aspect of our lives. Without the Lord, we will fall into the traps of Satan with his evil and deceitful tactics.
I Thank God for being My Lord and My Saviour!!
