In the Holy Scriptures, God is portrayed as an all-powerful and morally upright entity, yet simultaneously profoundly compassionate and affectionate towards humanity. The scripture illustrates God as an entity deeply invested in our welfare—to such an extent that he allowed his Only Begotten Son, Jesus, to enter this world to establish a personal relationship with us.
Jesus became the living representation of God’s love, proving that it is a genuine, true thing in which we can put our faith. Biblical “unconditional love,” or agape love[1], is rooted in this kind of love that comes fully from God and not from our loveliness.
Jesus’ pure love, which he bestows upon us, radiates from his heart and is totally of him. God loves us even though we lack impressive, remarkable, admirable, or appealing attributes.

Does Jesus Love Me?
We have grown accustomed to people disappointing and failing us in this world. It is tough to believe that Jesus’ love will never fail us. But the only being who will surely never let everyone down is Jesus, a divine being in the human body (John 1:14).
Jesus sacrificed his life, but his spirit keeps us alive and grants us everlasting life. He is constantly there for us with his devoted love: “The Lord’s steadfast love never ceases, just as his mercies know no bounds. They are new every day—so great is your faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22–23).
We may find it challenging to embrace Jesus’ love for us because we think of our flaws and failures. We are well aware of our wrongdoings, so it is not easy for us to accept that he will love us unconditionally. The gospel of hope tells us that Jesus fully sees our history and what lies ahead, and his forgiveness and love are open to us without restriction.
Even as he was suffering on the cross, he expressed love by redeeming an offender who was hanging there with him. The offender acknowledged him: “And he said, ‘Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.’ And he said to the penitent thief, Dismas, ‘Today, you will be with me in paradise'” (Luke 23:42–43). Jesus recognized his demonstration of faith and offered him everlasting life.
What Does The Bible Say About Jesus’ Love For Us?
John 15:13 states, “‘Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.'” Jesus revealed the utmost love of God by descending onto the earth and giving his life in exchange for us.
Because he thought we were friends who were worth dying for, he suffered and died for us (John 15:15). Jesus demonstrated this kind of deep affection while he was on Earth, and he continues to do so even now, though we may not see the love of our family and friends with this same intensity.
Through Jesus Christ, who lived a perfect life on earth and whose death each of us deserved, we are granted the opportunity to have a better relationship with God (John 3:16–17). Furthermore, the Bible verses 1 John 4:10 and Luke 19:10 state that God demonstrates his love for us by sending Jesus Christ.
And as God’s son, Jesus showed us his faithful love through his crucifixion. The Bible tells us, “The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”
How Much Does Jesus Love Me?
Christ’s love is fully free and gracious, coming from him to each of us completely because of him, not because of us. His unconditional love for us is very distinct. Ephesians 1:4–6 says this: “He picked us…even before the foundation of the world…in love…according to the purpose of his will, in praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the One he loves.”
Christ died for us and gave up everything (his Father and his life in heaven) to protect us. Through the sacrificial death of Christ, we are invited into a transformative relationship with God. His love for us knows no bounds, transcending our shortcomings, failures, and inadequacies.
In the embrace of his unconditional love, we find solace, acceptance, and healing. In this divine love, we discover our true worth and purpose. So just turn to the crucifix if you are feeling sad, lonely, depressed, or unloved. God shows the fullest manifestation of his love for you through his death on the cross.
A Prayer To Receive Jesus’ Love
Because he truly and greatly loves us, Jesus accepted his destiny and offered his life for us to experience an entirely fresh start and share eternal bliss with him. To sincerely wish to receive Jesus Christ, we must offer prayers and acknowledge him as the Lord and Savior of our souls. To fully submit to Jesus and embrace his eternal existence, we can say this prayer:
Dear God,
I acknowledge that I am a worthless sinner and could never enter your paradise with good works alone. I firmly believe that Jesus is my Savior and that he sacrificed his life so he could provide me with everlasting life. Lord, please forgive me of all my misdeeds and guide me in living a life filled with love for others and for you. I’m grateful that you rescued me and gave me the gift of eternal life.
Amen.
Conclusion
The scriptural response to whether Jesus loves us is not to turn to ourselves, our affection, or our devotion, because human love is frequently rooted in the object of our changing love. What fills our hearts with joy at one time leaves us unsatisfied and unhappy the next. We are unpredictable and uncertain.
Rather, we are urged to reflect on the immutable truth of what Jesus accomplished for us. Because we are as unstable as shifting sand, we must base our certainty and faith in his love, the person he is, and the things he has done. This kind of love is a beautiful and uplifting reality to experience once we understand it.
Dear Shannon Jacobs,
Thank you for the article. Being the follower of Jesus Christ doesn’t mean that life is always easy and comfortable but, at times, is very tough. The article reminds me of finding solace in Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of our souls.
